Makealist

Makealist – the savvy, newly born, ingenious, know-it-all way to shop!

Makealist will not replace or substitute your desire to jump in your car, inch along at bumper to bumper pace to the shopping mall. Neither will it satisfy your need to sit patiently in the queue for an expensive car parking space. Makealist does not claim to replace the shopping experience of walking to store after store and aisle after aisle with the company of hundreds of other shoppers. It also doesn’t offer a queue at check-out. Makealist unfortunately cannot supply you with inclement weather conditions in which you may carry your parcels!

The Whitehawk Inn

The Whitehawk Inn is one of the most inspiring institutions in the area. It provides a vital link between adult education and training to finding employment.

Since 1997 the Trustees have worked hard to oversee the dream of turning a dilapidated pub into an incredibly impressive, bright and promising community learning centre.  The dream came true in 2001, when the doors opened to the public as a fully equipped training centre.  The Whitehawk Inn is a whole new world for some and during the past six years, people from every walk of life have been able to enjoy the many courses and activities available to them.  Sometimes, life can change your plans and, without warning,  you might find yourself feeling a bit left behind. Lone parents and learners with disabilities may feel their roles at home make it too demanding to venture back into learning but the bright and exciting centre, with only the most respectful and friendliest of staff, is a whole new world!

Frances Duncan and her team have exceptional qualities to make everyone feel welcome and ‘at home’. Their skills and encouragement will support everyone through every stage of their learning, they recognise every achievement and help individuals to gain confidence and go on to take advantage of every opportunity open to them. A visit to the centre is an absolute must to really appreciate what is on offer.

The Whitehawk Inn is a real inspiration to everyone who walks through the door, it is quite unbelievable to see how much is achieved inside this rather lovely building!
